Method

Preparation Steps
  1. Start by lining a baking sheet with parchment paper and arranging the frozen dinner rolls on the sheet. Cover the rolls with plastic wrap and allow them to thaw for about 20 minutes at room temperature until they become soft and pliable.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, heavy cream, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined. Heat a skillet over medium heat and pour in the egg mixture, allowing it to cook gently.
  3. Once the eggs are fluffy and just about set, mix in the fully cooked breakfast sausage, stirring gently to combine. Set this filling aside to cool slightly as you prepare the dough.
  4. Flatten each roll into a 3-inch circle and place half a slice of cheddar cheese and a scoop of the sausage and egg mixture in the center.
  5. Carefully pinch the edges of the dough together to seal in the filling. If desired, dip the tops of the kolaches in everything bagel seasoning.
  6. Cover the assembled kolaches with a kitchen towel and let them rise for about 30 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Once the kolaches have puffed up, bake them for 15-17 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top.
  8. After baking, let the kolaches cool on the baking sheet for about 10 minutes before serving warm.
