Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened unsalted butter, light brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add large eggs one at a time to the mixture and stir in vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold this mixture into the wet ingredients.
  5. Press half of the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.
  6. Spread salted caramel sauce over the dough base and sprinkle sea salt flakes on top.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the caramel filling.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes until the edges are golden brown but the center is soft.
  9. Let the bars cool on a wire rack for at least 1 hour.
  10. Whisk together powdered sugar, whole milk (or cream), ground cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth to make the glaze.
