Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and roll out your pizza dough on a lightly floured surface, aiming for about 1/4 inch thickness.
- In a large skillet, melt a tablespoon of butter over medium heat and add thinly sliced yellow onions. Cook until deeply caramelized, about 10-12 minutes. Remove onions and set aside.
- In the same skillet, cook thinly sliced flank or sirloin steak over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes until browned, then remove from heat and slice into thin strips.
- In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Whisk in 2 tablespoons of flour for about 1-2 minutes, then gradually add 1 cup of milk and whisk until thickened (3-5 minutes). Stir in minced garlic and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan until smooth.
- Spread the garlic white sauce over the prepared pizza dough. Layer sliced steak and caramelized onions, then top with provolone cheese.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling. Watch closely to prevent burning.
- Remove from oven, cool for a few minutes, slice and serve warm.
