Preparation Steps
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a muffin tin.
- Whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
- Mash ripe bananas in a separate bowl and mix with sugar until blended.
- Stir in egg and vegetable oil to the banana-sugar mixture until smooth.
- Add vanilla extract and ½ cup of Nutella, stirring until well combined.
- Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips if using.
- Spoon batter into muffin cups, filling two-thirds full, and swirl additional Nutella on top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking doneness with a toothpick.
- Cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
