Filling Preparation
- In a medium bowl, combine light brown sugar, matcha powder, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of fine salt. Whisk to ensure even distribution.
Dough Preparation
- In a large bowl, sift together all-purpose flour, matcha powder, instant dry yeast, and fine salt. Mix thoroughly.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine whole milk, unsalted butter, and granulated sugar. Heat until butter melts. Pour mixture into flour mixture.
- Add eggs one at a time, stirring well until a sticky dough forms. Gradually add more flour if needed and knead until smooth.
- Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 10-20 minutes.
Rolling and Cutting
- Roll out dough into a rectangle. Spread softened butter and sprinkle prepared filling on top.
- Roll tightly from one edge and slice into 12 equal pieces using dental floss.
- Place rolls in a greased baking pan and cover. Let proof for 30 minutes.
Baking
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 28-32 minutes until golden brown.
- In the meantime, prepare frosting by beating together cream cheese, softened butter, vanilla extract, and powdered sugar until smooth.
