For the Strawberry Syrup
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries frozen strawberries work in a pinch
  • 1/2 cup white sugar substitute with honey or agave for a natural option
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice optional for extra tartness
For the Tea
  • 2 tablespoons Earl Grey tea leaves or 2 tea bags
  • 1/2 cup water hot but not boiling
For the Creamy Base
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup milk try oat milk or other plant-based options

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Wash and hull the strawberries, then chop into small pieces. Place in a sealable jar, add white sugar, and stir gently. Allow to sit for 1 hour at room temperature to release juices.
  2. In a teapot or heat-proof mug, bring water to just below boiling. Add Earl Grey tea leaves or tea bags and steep for 3-5 minutes.
  3. Fill a tall glass halfway with ice. Pour in the macerated strawberry syrup, followed by the cooled Earl Grey tea. Mix gently.
  4. Pour in your preferred milk and stir gently until well combined. Admire the inviting color and aroma.
  5. Garnish with fresh strawberry slices or a sprig of mint. Serve immediately for the best experience.
