Ingredients
  

For the Bread
  • 2 rolls Ciabatta or sourdough Provides the best texture for the sandwich.
For the Sandwich
  • 8 ounces Roasted turkey breast Use any deli meat if preferred.
  • 2 slices White cheddar cheese Can substitute with Swiss, gouda, or pepper jack.
  • 1 medium Ripe avocado Choose a ripe avocado for easy slicing.
For the Grinder Salad
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise Duke's Mayo is favored.
  • 2 tablespoons White balsamic vinegar Red wine vinegar can be substituted.
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard Optional for spice.
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 clove Garlic Minced.
  • 1/4 cup Red onion Chopped.
  • 1 cup Iceberg lettuce Shredded.
  • 1/4 cup Black olives Optional.
  • 1/2 cup Cucumber Optional, sliced.
Optional Add-ins
  • 1 jalapeño Sliced jalapeños For a spicy kick.
  • 8 ounces Roasted chicken Substitute for turkey.

Method
 

Prepare the Grinder Salad
  1. In a large bowl, combine mayonnaise, white balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well, then add sliced red onion, cucumber, and black olives. Gently fold in the shredded iceberg lettuce.
Toast the Bread and Assemble the Sandwich
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut ciabatta rolls in half and layer each half with a slice of white cheddar cheese and a generous portion of sliced turkey. Toast in the oven for 5-10 minutes until the cheese is melted and bread is golden brown.
Finish the Sandwich
  1. Once the rolls are toasted, remove from the oven and layer on the sliced avocado. Pile on the grinder salad and serve immediately.
