Method

Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Oven Fries
  1. Wash 2–4 medium Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes. Cut them into matchstick shapes for even cooking and crispiness. Soak the potato strips in a bowl of cold water for 15–30 minutes to remove excess starch.
  2. Thoroughly rinse the soaked potato strips under cold water to remove any released starch. Pat them dry with a towel.
  3. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Combine the dried potato strips with salt, oregano, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and paprika in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle oil over the seasoned potatoes and toss until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the seasoned potatoes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Flip the fries and return to the oven for another 15–20 minutes, until golden and crispy.
  6. Allow the Easy Oven Fries to rest for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet before serving.
