Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Let the fresh cod sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes. Cut into four equal pieces and season with salt and pepper. Lightly coat with flour.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the seasoned cod and cook for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
  3. Turn off the heat and let the skillet cool for 1 minute.
  4. Return the skillet to medium heat, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, then the minced garlic and flourish. Sauté for 1 minute.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream, followed by lemon juice and Italian seasoning. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until thickened.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese and parsley, mixing until well incorporated.
  7. Reintroduce the cod to the skillet and drizzle the sauce over fish. Simmer for a couple of minutes until the cod flakes easily.
