- Let the fresh cod sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes. Cut into four equal pieces and season with salt and pepper. Lightly coat with flour.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the seasoned cod and cook for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown. Transfer to a plate and keep warm.
- Turn off the heat and let the skillet cool for 1 minute.
- Return the skillet to medium heat, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter, then the minced garlic and flourish. Sauté for 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream, followed by lemon juice and Italian seasoning. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until thickened.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and parsley, mixing until well incorporated.
- Reintroduce the cod to the skillet and drizzle the sauce over fish. Simmer for a couple of minutes until the cod flakes easily.
