- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, then add your choice of short pasta. Cook until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add ground beef and/or pork, cooking for 5-7 minutes until browned. Then, add chopped bell peppers and onions, sautéing for an additional 5 minutes.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked pasta with the savory meat mixture. Pour in pizza sauce and stir until evenly coated.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish. Pour the pasta and meat mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and golden brown on top.
- Remove from oven and let it cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
