Step‑by‑Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a large baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
- Halve the French bread lengthwise and mix softened butter with garlic salt; spread on cut sides of the bread.
- Place the garlic buttered sides of the bread cut-side up on the baking sheet.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and diced onion over medium-high heat for 8-10 minutes, draining excess fat.
- Reduce heat to medium; stir in garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, and water; simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Divide the filling over the garlic buttered sides of the bread, then sprinkle mozzarella and cheddar cheeses on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes until the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
- Remove from oven, let cool for 1-2 minutes, slice for serving, and garnish with parsley.

Notes
For best results, drain cooked ground beef thoroughly to avoid soggy bread and adjust water in the filling for desired thickness.
