  • 1/4 cup Maple Syrup Can replace with agave nectar or date syrup.
  • 2-4 tablespoons Water Adjust if using alternate binders.
For the Filling
  • 1 cup Medjool Dates Can substitute with other soft, sweet dates.
  • 1 cup Coconut Milk Use full-fat for best results.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract Can replace with almond extract.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sea Salt Do not skip for enhanced flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch Can substitute with arrowroot or tapioca starch.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, maple syrup, and water. Stir until the mixture holds together, forming a cohesive dough.
  2. Grease a tart pan lightly, then evenly press the dough into the bottom and up the sides.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Once heated, place the crust in the oven and bake for approximately 15 minutes.
  4. While the crust is baking, blend the softened Medjool dates, coconut milk, vanilla extract, sea salt, and cornstarch in a blender until smooth.
  5. Once the crust is baked, pour the blended filling into the tart crust and smooth the top evenly.
  6. Return the assembled tart to the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  7. Once baked, remove the tart from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature.
