- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/4 cup raisins (optional)
Instructions
- In a large saucepan, combine the rolled oats, milk, diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the oats are creamy and the apples are tender.
- If using, stir in the chopped walnuts and raisins during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
- Remove from heat and let it sit for a few minutes to thicken. Serve warm.
