Description

A delightful festive treat combining the flavors of cranberry and orange in a creamy cheesecake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 16 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • ½ cup cranberry sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Mix until well combined.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and let cool.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with 1 cup of sugar until smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the vanilla extract and mix until combined.
  6. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  7. Stir in the sour cream and orange zest until fully incorporated.
  8. Pour half of the cheesecake batter over the cooled crust.
  9. Spoon half of the cranberry sauce over the batter and use a knife to swirl it gently.
  10. Pour the remaining cheesecake batter on top, followed by the rest of the cranberry sauce. Swirl again to create a marbled effect.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  12. Turn off the oven and crack the door open, allowing the cheesecake to cool in the oven for 1 hour.
  13. Remove from the oven and let cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  14. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

  • For a festive touch, consider topping the cheesecake with whipped cream and additional cranberry sauce before serving.
  • You can also substitute the cranberry sauce with raspberry or cherry sauce for a different flavor profile.
