Description

Texas Twinkies Egg Rolls are a savory delight filled with a mixture of ground beef, smoked brisket, and creamy cheeses, all wrapped in a crispy egg roll shell.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound smoked brisket, shredded
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 10 egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded brisket, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  2. Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you. Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the meat mixture in the center of the wrapper.
  3. Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll it up tightly. Seal the top corner with a little water. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  4. In a deep skillet or fryer, heat oil to 350°F. Carefully add the egg rolls in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Remove the egg rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or additional barbecue sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the meat mixture.
  • Try using different types of cheese, such as pepper jack or mozzarella, for a unique flavor twist.
