Description
Texas Twinkies Egg Rolls are a savory delight filled with a mixture of ground beef, smoked brisket, and creamy cheeses, all wrapped in a crispy egg roll shell.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound smoked brisket, shredded
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 10 egg roll wrappers
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded brisket, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, barbecue sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Lay an egg roll wrapper on a clean surface with one corner pointing towards you. Place about 2-3 tablespoons of the meat mixture in the center of the wrapper.
- Fold the bottom corner of the wrapper over the filling, then fold in the sides and roll it up tightly. Seal the top corner with a little water. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
- In a deep skillet or fryer, heat oil to 350°F. Carefully add the egg rolls in batches, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the egg rolls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or additional barbecue sauce.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the meat mixture.
- Try using different types of cheese, such as pepper jack or mozzarella, for a unique flavor twist.
