- 1 pound fresh salmon fillets, skin removed
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- For the creamy garlic sauce:
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a food processor, add the salmon fillets and pulse until finely chopped but not pureed. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.
- Add breadcrumbs, green onions, red bell pepper, sweet chili sauce, egg, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
- Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon balls are cooked through and golden brown.
- While the salmon balls are baking, prepare the creamy garlic sauce. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
- Once the salmon balls are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving with the creamy garlic sauce.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add more crushed red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the salmon mixture.
- You can substitute the salmon with canned salmon for a quicker option; just make sure to drain it well before mixing.
