Description

Delicious Sweet Chili Salmon Balls served with a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for a flavorful appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound fresh salmon fillets, skin removed
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup sweet chili sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • For the creamy garlic sauce:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, add the salmon fillets and pulse until finely chopped but not pureed. Transfer to a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add breadcrumbs, green onions, red bell pepper, sweet chili sauce, egg, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) to the bowl. Mix until well combined.
  4. Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the salmon balls are cooked through and golden brown.
  6. While the salmon balls are baking, prepare the creamy garlic sauce. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until smooth.
  7. Once the salmon balls are done, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving with the creamy garlic sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more crushed red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the salmon mixture.
  • You can substitute the salmon with canned salmon for a quicker option; just make sure to drain it well before mixing.
