Description
A delicious and hearty stuffed seafood bread bowl filled with shrimp, crab, and creamy cheese, perfect for sharing.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large round sourdough bread loaves
- 1 pound cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup lump crab meat
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup diced red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Cut the tops off the sourdough loaves and hollow out the insides, leaving about 1-inch thick walls. Save the bread you remove for dipping.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the shrimp, crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, mozzarella cheese, red bell pepper, green onions, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Mix until well combined.
- Spoon the seafood mixture into the hollowed-out bread loaves, packing it in tightly.
- Place the filled bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the tops are golden and the filling is heated through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
- Serve warm with the reserved bread pieces for dipping.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the seafood mixture.
- Substitute the shrimp and crab with your favorite seafood, such as scallops or lobster, for a different flavor profile.
