- 2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the strawberries and set aside to marinate for about 10 minutes.
- In another bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
- Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly and well combined.
- Pour the strawberry mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture over the strawberries, covering them completely.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the strawberries are bubbling.
- Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a twist, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the strawberry mixture for extra flavor.
- You can also substitute half of the strawberries with blueberries or raspberries for a mixed berry crisp.
