Description

A delightful and easy-to-make dessert featuring fresh strawberries topped with a crispy oat mixture, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the strawberries and set aside to marinate for about 10 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and the remaining 1/2 cup of granulated sugar.
  4. Pour in the melted butter and stir until the mixture is crumbly and well combined.
  5. Pour the strawberry mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Sprinkle the oat mixture over the strawberries, covering them completely.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the strawberries are bubbling.
  8. Let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a twist, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the strawberry mixture for extra flavor.
  • You can also substitute half of the strawberries with blueberries or raspberries for a mixed berry crisp.
