A flavorful and spicy Korean ramen recipe that is quick and easy to prepare.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 cups water
- 1 package (3 oz) instant ramen noodles
- 1 tablespoon gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup sliced green onions
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 1/2 cup baby spinach
- 1 large egg (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, bring 3 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Add the instant ramen noodles to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions, usually about 3-4 minutes.
- While the noodles are cooking, in a small bowl, mix together the gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, and black pepper.
- Once the noodles are cooked, reduce the heat to medium and stir in the gochujang mixture.
- Add the sliced mushrooms and cook for an additional 2 minutes until they are tender.
- Stir in the baby spinach and sliced green onions, cooking for another minute until the spinach wilts.
- If using, crack the egg into the ramen and gently stir to combine. Cook for an additional minute until the egg is cooked to your liking.
- Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds if desired.
Notes
- For extra protein, add cooked chicken, tofu, or shrimp to the ramen.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less gochujang, or include sliced jalapeños for an extra kick.
