- 1 pound mahi mahi fillets
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lime, juiced
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your grill or a grill pan over medium-high heat.
- In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
- Pat the mahi mahi fillets dry with paper towels and brush both sides with olive oil.
- Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the fillets, pressing gently to adhere.
- Squeeze the lime juice over the seasoned fillets.
- Place the mahi mahi on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is opaque in the center.
- Remove from the grill and let rest for a couple of minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
- For a tropical twist, serve the mahi mahi with a mango salsa made from diced mango, red onion, cilantro, and lime juice.
- If you prefer baking, place the seasoned fillets on a lined baking sheet and bake at 400°F for 15-20 minutes, or until cooked through.
