Description

Spaghetti Garlic Bread Bowls are a delicious and creative twist on traditional spaghetti, served in a crispy bread bowl and topped with melted mozzarella cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 large bread bowls (sourdough or Italian)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F.
  2. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, then stir in the salt, black pepper, and marinara sauce. Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  5. While the spaghetti is cooking, prepare the bread bowls. Cut the tops off the bread bowls and hollow out the insides, leaving about a 1-inch thick wall.
  6. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, dried parsley, and garlic powder. Spread this mixture on the insides of the hollowed-out bread bowls.
  7. Place the bread bowls on a baking sheet. Fill each bowl with the spaghetti mixture, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a meatier option, add cooked ground beef or Italian sausage to the spaghetti mixture.
  • To make it a vegetarian dish, include sautéed vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach in the spaghetti.
