Spaghetti Garlic Bread Bowls are a delicious and creative twist on traditional spaghetti, served in a crispy bread bowl and topped with melted mozzarella cheese.

- 8 ounces spaghetti
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 large bread bowls (sourdough or Italian)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F.
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes (if using) and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, then stir in the salt, black pepper, and marinara sauce. Mix well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.
- While the spaghetti is cooking, prepare the bread bowls. Cut the tops off the bread bowls and hollow out the insides, leaving about a 1-inch thick wall.
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter, dried parsley, and garlic powder. Spread this mixture on the insides of the hollowed-out bread bowls.
- Place the bread bowls on a baking sheet. Fill each bowl with the spaghetti mixture, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a meatier option, add cooked ground beef or Italian sausage to the spaghetti mixture.
- To make it a vegetarian dish, include sautéed vegetables like bell peppers, mushrooms, or spinach in the spaghetti.
