Description

A delicious and easy recipe for shrimp balls that are perfect as an appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the shrimp, breadcrumbs, green onions, cilantro, garlic, ginger, egg, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Pulse until the mixture is well combined but still slightly chunky.
  2. Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat.
  4. Once the oil is hot, carefully add the shrimp balls in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through, turning occasionally.
  5. Remove the shrimp balls from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
  6. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sweet chili sauce or soy sauce.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the mixture.
  • You can bake the shrimp balls at 400°F for 15-20 minutes instead of frying for a healthier option.
