- 2 cups vanilla pudding mix
- 4 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pound cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 2 cups whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/2 cup chocolate shavings (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth and thickened, about 2 minutes. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a large trifle dish or individual serving glasses, layer half of the pound cake cubes at the bottom.
- Spoon half of the vanilla pudding over the pound cake layer, spreading it evenly.
- Add half of the mixed berries on top of the pudding layer.
- Spread half of the whipped cream over the berries, smoothing it out with a spatula.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining pound cake, pudding, berries, and whipped cream.
- If desired, sprinkle chocolate shavings on top for added texture and flavor.
- Chill the trifle in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves just before serving.
