- 2 cups vanilla pudding mix
- 4 cups milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pound angel food cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 2 cups mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 2 cups whipped cream (store-bought or homemade)
- 1/4 cup chocolate shavings (optional)
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the vanilla pudding mix, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
- In a large trifle dish or a glass bowl, layer half of the angel food cake cubes at the bottom.
- Spoon half of the vanilla pudding over the cake cubes, spreading it evenly.
- Add half of the mixed berries on top of the pudding layer.
- Spread half of the whipped cream over the berries.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining angel food cake, pudding, mixed berries, and whipped cream.
- If desired, sprinkle chocolate shavings on top for added flavor and decoration.
- Cover the trifle with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
- Before serving, garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
Notes
- For a chocolate twist, substitute chocolate pudding for vanilla pudding.
