Description

A delicious and indulgent dessert combining red velvet cake and creamy cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups red velvet cake mix
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • Chocolate shavings or cocoa powder for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and set aside.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, melted butter, egg, and milk. Mix until well combined and smooth.
  3. Pour the cake batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely in the pan.
  4. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  5. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.
  6. Gently fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  7. Once the cake has cooled, remove it from the pan and slice it in half horizontally to create two layers.
  8. Place one layer of the cake on a serving plate. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the top, then layer with half of the sliced strawberries.
  9. Place the second layer of cake on top and repeat the process with the remaining cream cheese mixture and strawberries.
  10. Garnish with chocolate shavings or a dusting of cocoa powder if desired. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, try adding a tablespoon of cocoa powder to the cream cheese mixture.
  • You can also substitute the strawberries with raspberries or blueberries for a different fruity twist.
