Description

Pan-Seared Cod with Garlic Cream Sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make seafood dish that features tender cod fillets cooked to perfection and topped with a rich garlic cream sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6-ounce) cod fillets
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the cod fillets and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fillets from the skillet and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  5. Stir in the lemon juice and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  6. Return the cod fillets to the skillet, spooning the garlic cream sauce over them. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
  7. Serve the cod hot, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider incorporating a splash of white wine into the sauce after sautéing the garlic, allowing it to reduce before adding the cream.
  • If you prefer a lighter sauce, substitute half of the heavy cream with chicken broth or vegetable broth.
