Description
Pan-Seared Cod with Garlic Cream Sauce is a delicious and easy-to-make seafood dish that features tender cod fillets cooked to perfection and topped with a rich garlic cream sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 (6-ounce) cod fillets
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the cod fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the cod fillets and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the fillets from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. Allow the sauce to simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- Stir in the lemon juice and adjust seasoning if necessary.
- Return the cod fillets to the skillet, spooning the garlic cream sauce over them. Cook for an additional minute to heat through.
- Serve the cod hot, garnished with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For added flavor, consider incorporating a splash of white wine into the sauce after sautéing the garlic, allowing it to reduce before adding the cream.
- If you prefer a lighter sauce, substitute half of the heavy cream with chicken broth or vegetable broth.
