- 6 large croissants, torn into bite-sized pieces
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced cooked ham (or cooked bacon)
- 1/2 cup diced bell pepper (any color)
- 1/2 cup diced onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper until well combined.
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, layer the torn croissant pieces evenly across the bottom.
- Sprinkle the diced ham, bell pepper, onion, and half of the cheddar cheese over the croissant layer.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients, ensuring all croissant pieces are soaked.
- Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight (or at least 4 hours) to allow the flavors to meld and the croissants to absorb the egg mixture.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Remove the plastic wrap and sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the casserole is puffed and golden brown. A toothpick inserted in the center should come out clean.
- Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

- For a vegetarian version, omit the meat and add more vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini.
