Description
A delicious and easy-to-make brown sugar peach cobbler that brings back old school flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh or frozen peaches, sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the peaches are well coated.
- Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; the batter will be slightly lumpy.
- Pour the batter evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish. Do not stir.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the cobbler cool for about 10 minutes before serving. This dish is best served warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
- For a twist, add a teaspoon of nutmeg or ginger to the peach mixture for extra flavor.
- Try substituting half of the peaches with blueberries or blackberries for a mixed berry cobbler.
