Description

A delicious and easy-to-make brown sugar peach cobbler that brings back old school flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh or frozen peaches, sliced
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sliced peaches, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the peaches are well coated.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; the batter will be slightly lumpy.
  6. Pour the batter evenly over the peach mixture in the baking dish. Do not stir.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the cobbler cool for about 10 minutes before serving. This dish is best served warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • For a twist, add a teaspoon of nutmeg or ginger to the peach mixture for extra flavor.
  • Try substituting half of the peaches with blueberries or blackberries for a mixed berry cobbler.
