Description

Delicious and flavorful New Year’s Chili Honey Chicken Bites that are perfect for impressing your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
  • 2 green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, ground ginger, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Place the chicken pieces on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
  5. Drizzle the vegetable oil over the chicken and toss gently to coat.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown, flipping halfway through.
  7. If desired, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more chili garlic sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the marinade.
  • Serve these chicken bites with toothpicks as an appetizer or over a bed of rice for a complete meal.
