Description
Delicious and flavorful New Year’s Chili Honey Chicken Bites that are perfect for impressing your guests.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
- 2 green onions, sliced (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, ground ginger, black pepper, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
- Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Place the chicken pieces on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer.
- Drizzle the vegetable oil over the chicken and toss gently to coat.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and golden brown, flipping halfway through.
- If desired, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes for extra crispiness.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add more chili garlic sauce or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the marinade.
- Serve these chicken bites with toothpicks as an appetizer or over a bed of rice for a complete meal.
