A delicious twist on traditional meatloaf featuring ground beef, mushrooms, and Swiss cheese.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup finely chopped mushrooms
- 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped mushrooms, Swiss cheese, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, thyme, and parsley. Mix until well combined, but avoid overmixing.
- Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
- Spread the ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey for ground beef.
- You can also add chopped bell peppers or spinach for extra veggies.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, mix in some diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
