A delicious and moist chocolate espresso banana bread that combines the rich flavors of chocolate and espresso with the sweetness of ripe bananas.

- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon espresso powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas and melted butter. Stir in the vanilla extract and espresso powder.
- Add the sugar and beaten egg to the banana mixture, mixing well.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then mix to combine.
- Gently fold in the flour and cocoa powder until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of cinnamon to the batter.
- You can also substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
