Description

Mini Football is a fun and delicious recipe that resembles footballs, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • Green and white icing (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and nuts if using.
  7. Using a tablespoon, scoop out the dough and shape it into small footballs (about 1.5 inches long) and place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, use green and white icing to decorate the mini footballs to resemble actual footballs.

Notes

  • For a fun twist, substitute the chocolate chips with peanut butter chips or butterscotch chips.
  • To make these gluten-free, substitute the all-purpose flour with a 1:1 gluten-free flour blend.
