Description

A rich and creamy chocolate orange cheesecake with a delicious graham cracker crust and a smooth chocolate ganache topping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 24 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, cocoa powder, sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared springform pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and let cool.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add the sugar and mix until well combined.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract, orange zest, sour cream, and melted chocolate until fully incorporated.
  5. Pour the cheesecake filling over the cooled crust. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  6. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for 1 hour to cool gradually. Remove from the oven and let cool completely at room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  7. For the ganache, heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until just simmering. Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Stir until smooth and glossy. Stir in the orange zest. Let cool slightly before pouring over the chilled cheesecake.
  8. Slice and serve chilled.

Notes

  • For a more intense orange flavor, add a few drops of orange extract to the cheesecake filling.
  • You can substitute the graham cracker crumbs with Oreo cookie crumbs for a chocolatey twist on the crust.
