Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 packet taco seasoning (about 1 ounce)
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (4 ounces) diced green chilies
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1 medium avocado, diced
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic until the beef is fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
- Stir in the taco seasoning, diced tomatoes, and green chilies. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spread the beef mixture evenly.
- In a separate bowl, mix the sour cream with a pinch of salt and pepper, then spread it over the beef layer.
- Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes.
- Top with shredded lettuce, diced avocado, sliced black olives, and chopped cilantro before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add jalapeños to the beef mixture or top with a spicy salsa.
- To make it vegetarian, substitute the ground beef with a mix of sautéed mushrooms and bell peppers.
