Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 1 cup cooked jasmine rice
- 1 cup broccoli florets (steamed)
- 1/2 cup shredded carrots
- 2 green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
- Stir in the soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
- While the beef is cooking, prepare the jasmine rice according to package instructions.
- To serve, place a scoop of jasmine rice in a bowl, top with the Korean ground beef mixture, steamed broccoli, and shredded carrots.
- Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For a healthier option, substitute ground turkey or chicken for the beef.
- Add a fried egg on top of each bowl for extra flavor and richness.
