Italian Pinwheels are a delicious and easy-to-make appetizer or snack, perfect for parties or gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 large flour tortillas
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1 cup sliced black olives
- 1 cup baby spinach leaves
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes. Mix until well blended.
- Lay one tortilla flat on a clean surface. Spread a generous layer of the cream cheese mixture over the entire surface of the tortilla.
- Evenly distribute a layer of pepperoni, black olives, and spinach leaves over the cream cheese mixture.
- Starting from one end, tightly roll the tortilla into a log shape. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and filling.
- Once all tortillas are rolled, wrap each log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.
- After chilling, remove the plastic wrap and slice each log into 1-inch thick pinwheels. Arrange on a serving platter and enjoy!
Notes
- For a healthier option, use whole wheat tortillas and add more vegetables like bell peppers or cucumbers.
- Try adding different meats like ham or turkey, or use different cheeses such as feta or cheddar for a unique flavor twist.
