Description

A rich and creamy Red Velvet Oreo Cheesecake with layers of deliciousness, topped with whipped cream and garnished with Oreo cookies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ½ cups Oreo cookie crumbs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 24 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup buttermilk
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Oreo cookies, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine Oreo cookie crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared springform pan to form the crust.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth. Gradually add the granulated sugar and continue to beat until well combined. Mix in the vanilla extract.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, add the sour cream, buttermilk, cocoa powder, and red food coloring. Mix until the batter is smooth and fully combined.
  5. Pour the cheesecake filling over the prepared crust in the springform pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 55-60 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly. Turn off the oven and leave the cheesecake inside for 1 hour to cool gradually.
  7. Remove the cheesecake from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight for best results.
  8. For the whipped cream topping, beat the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form.
  9. Once the cheesecake is chilled, remove it from the springform pan. Spread the whipped cream evenly over the top and garnish with Oreo cookies.

Notes

  • For an extra touch, consider adding a layer of crushed Oreos between the cheesecake and whipped cream.
  • You can also use a chocolate ganache drizzle on top for added richness.
