Description
A zesty and flavorful dish featuring shrimp cooked in a rich garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper (adjust for spice preference)
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- Steamed rice or fresh baguette for serving
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the butter, allowing it to melt completely.
- Once the butter is bubbling, introduce the chopped garlic and crushed red pepper. Sauté for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic releases its aroma without browning.
- Carefully place the shrimp in the skillet in a single layer. Season them generously with salt and pepper. Allow them to cook for 2-3 minutes until they start to turn pink on one side.
- Gently turn the shrimp over and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes until they are fully cooked and have a nice opaque color.
- Drizzle the lemon juice over the shrimp and sprinkle with chopped parsley. Give it a quick stir to combine all the flavors.
- Serve hot, either over a bed of steamed rice or alongside slices of fresh baguette to enjoy the delicious sauce.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of crushed red pepper based on your spice preference.
- Fresh parsley can be substituted with other herbs like cilantro for a different flavor.
- This dish pairs well with a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
