Description

Garlic Butter Honey BBQ Tacos are a delicious fusion of flavors, combining savory garlic, sweet honey, and tangy BBQ sauce with seasoned ground meat, all wrapped in warm tortillas.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the ground beef or turkey to the skillet, breaking it apart with a spatula. Cook until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Stir in the honey, BBQ sauce, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and let simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  4. Pour the garlic butter honey BBQ sauce over the cooked meat in the skillet. Stir to combine and heat through for another 2-3 minutes.
  5. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until pliable.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing a generous amount of the meat mixture on each tortilla. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and cheddar cheese.
  7. Drizzle with sour cream if desired and garnish with fresh cilantro. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce to the meat mixture.
  • Substitute the ground meat with shredded rotisserie chicken or black beans for a different protein option.
