Description
A deliciously simple recipe for Garlic Butter Cod that is easy to prepare and packed with flavor.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound cod fillets
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir in the lemon juice, dried parsley, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Remove from heat.
- Place the cod fillets in a baking dish. Pour the garlic butter mixture over the fillets, ensuring they are well coated.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is opaque throughout.
- Serve the cod hot, garnished with lemon wedges.
Notes
- For added flavor, marinate the cod in the garlic butter mixture for 30 minutes before baking.
- Substitute cod with other white fish like tilapia or haddock for a different taste.
