Description
A delicious and moist Espresso Banana Bread that combines the rich flavor of espresso with the sweetness of ripe bananas.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brewed espresso, cooled
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and melted butter. Mix until well combined.
- Stir in the beaten egg and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, flour, and cinnamon (if using).
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing just until combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the cooled espresso and chopped nuts (if using) until evenly distributed.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, add 1/4 cup of chocolate chips to the batter.
- Substitute half of the all-purpose flour with whole wheat flour for a healthier option.
