Description
A delicious and easy-to-make pepperoni cheese roll that is perfect for a snack or appetizer.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni
- 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
- Add the shredded mozzarella cheese, milk, and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Evenly distribute the sliced pepperoni over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning if desired.
- Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seams to seal.
- Place the roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Beat the egg and brush it over the top of the roll for a golden finish.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the roll is golden brown and cooked through. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add sliced jalapeños or crushed red pepper flakes with the pepperoni.
- Substitute the mozzarella cheese with cheddar or pepper jack for a different flavor profile.
