Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning (optional)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
  3. Add the shredded mozzarella cheese, milk, and olive oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Evenly distribute the sliced pepperoni over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning if desired.
  6. Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seams to seal.
  7. Place the roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Beat the egg and brush it over the top of the roll for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the roll is golden brown and cooked through. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.
