Ingredients

  • 2 (6-ounce) salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.
  3. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the brown sugar mixture generously over the top of each fillet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Remove from the oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Serve with lemon wedges on the side.

Notes

  • For a smoky flavor, try adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the brown sugar mixture.
