- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups hot water
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Whisk until well blended.
- Add the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into a greased slow cooker.
- Carefully pour the hot water over the batter in the slow cooker (do not stir).
- Cover and cook on low for 2 to 2.5 hours, or until the edges are set but the center is still gooey.
- Once done, turn off the slow cooker and let it sit for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of instant coffee granules to the batter.
- Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra indulgent treat.
