Description
A rich and indulgent dessert that combines the flavors of chocolate and nuts, perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1 cup heavy cream (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch pie pan with cooking spray or butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir until well mixed.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. The batter will be thick.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts (if using). Pour the batter into the prepared pie pan, spreading it evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center will still be soft.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving. The pie can be served warm or at room temperature.
- For a delicious touch, whip the heavy cream and serve it on the side or spoon it over individual slices of pie.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of espresso powder to the batter.
- You can substitute the walnuts with pecans or leave them out entirely for a nut-free version.
- For an extra indulgent treat, drizzle additional hot fudge sauce over the pie before serving.
