Description
Crying Tiger Beef is a flavorful dish featuring marinated flank steak, cooked to perfection and served with fresh cilantro and lime.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound flank steak
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Fresh cilantro, for garnish
- Lime wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Begin by slicing the flank steak against the grain into thin strips, about 1/4 inch thick. This will help ensure tenderness.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, fish sauce, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic powder, black pepper, and red pepper flakes.
- Add the sliced beef to the marinade, making sure each piece is well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.
- Remove the beef from the marinade, letting any excess drip off. Cook the beef in the hot skillet for about 3-4 minutes, or until browned and cooked to your desired doneness.
- Remove the beef from the heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Serve the beef garnished with fresh cilantro and lime wedges on the side.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes or serve with a spicy dipping sauce.
- Substitute the flank steak with sirloin or skirt steak for a different flavor profile.
