Description

A savory and creamy beef pasta dish that combines ground beef, penne pasta, and a rich sauce made with heavy cream and Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the penne pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a deep skillet, warm the olive oil over medium heat and add the chopped onion. Sauté until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and ground beef to the skillet. Cook until the beef is browned, about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Season with dried Italian herbs, sea salt, and black pepper. Pour in the beef broth and simmer for around 5 minutes.
  5. Lower the heat and stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Add the drained penne pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Heat through for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • For a healthier alternative, swap ground beef for ground turkey and use half-and-half instead of heavy cream.
  • Enhance the dish by adding vegetables such as spinach or bell peppers, sautéing them alongside the onions.
