- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon orange juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the softened butter to the dry ingredients and mix until crumbly.
- In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, orange zest, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well blended.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Gently fold in the chopped cranberries.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute until it comes together.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. Cut into strips or squares and place them in the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool for 10 minutes in the pan.
- While the rolls are cooling, prepare the glaze by mixing the powdered sugar and orange juice in a small bowl until smooth.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, substitute half of the milk with orange juice.
- Add chopped walnuts or pecans for extra crunch and flavor.
