Description

A delicious and hearty dish featuring chicken breasts topped with barbecue sauce, crumbled bacon, and melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts (about 1 pound total)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
  • 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and place them in a baking dish.
  3. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture evenly over both chicken breasts.
  4. Pour the barbecue sauce over the seasoned chicken, making sure to coat it well.
  5. Sprinkle the crumbled bacon evenly on top of the barbecue sauce.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
  7. Remove the baking dish from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the spice mixture or use a spicy barbecue sauce.
  • Substitute the chicken breasts with boneless, skinless thighs for a juicier option.
