Description
A delicious and hearty dish featuring chicken breasts topped with barbecue sauce, crumbled bacon, and melted cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large chicken breasts (about 1 pound total)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup barbecue sauce (your favorite brand)
- 4 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
- 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and place them in a baking dish.
- In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Rub this spice mixture evenly over both chicken breasts.
- Pour the barbecue sauce over the seasoned chicken, making sure to coat it well.
- Sprinkle the crumbled bacon evenly on top of the barbecue sauce.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Remove the baking dish from the oven and sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the chicken. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the spice mixture or use a spicy barbecue sauce.
- Substitute the chicken breasts with boneless, skinless thighs for a juicier option.
