Description

Delicious and festive Christmas Sugar Cookie Bites that are perfect for holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • ½ cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
  7. Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Gently press down on each cookie ball with the bottom of a glass to flatten slightly.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. Once cooled, decorate with sprinkles as desired.

Notes

  • For a festive twist, try adding ½ cup of mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the dough.
  • You can also substitute the almond extract with peppermint extract for a refreshing holiday flavor.
