Description
Delicious and festive Christmas Sugar Cookie Bites that are perfect for holiday celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- ½ teaspoon cream of tartar
- ½ cup powdered sugar (for rolling)
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cream of tartar. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract until well combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
- Place the cookie balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Gently press down on each cookie ball with the bottom of a glass to flatten slightly.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, decorate with sprinkles as desired.
Notes
- For a festive twist, try adding ½ cup of mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts to the dough.
- You can also substitute the almond extract with peppermint extract for a refreshing holiday flavor.
